Atelier Pierre Thibault has built a geometric white residence in rural Quebec, Canada which generally filters light coming into the home. This two-storey residence called Le Lupin was completed in 2016, and is meant to be a vacation home for a young family. The site overlooks the St. Lawrence River and is approximately a two-hour drive away from Quebec City. The internal spaces are deliberately kept minimal to maximize the occupants’ connection with the outdoors. The outdoor consists of thin slats that protect the terraces from onlookers, and also creates a play of shadows by allowing the colors of the landscape to percolate into the home.

The home showcases a flipped layout, where the bedrooms are on the ground floor, below the kitchen, dining and living room. The upper floor provides a spectacular view of the river to the inhabitants. On the other side, ground floor bedrooms enjoy direct access to the gardens. The bathroom is shared by the two bedrooms downstairs. The living area has minimal plywood furniture and a concrete floor.

Imagination, creativity a keen visual perspective and the ability to conceptualize and understand spatial relationships should be a given for any good architect and here at SDSNata, one of the top NATA coaching centers in Trivandrum, Nagercoil, Marthandam and Kanyakumari we ensure to instill these skills in each and every one of our students.
