NATA 2020 EXAM PATTERN

  • Mode: The exam will be conducted two times in a year through  online mode.
  • Sections: It will be comprised of two sections. Part A is paper based drawing test and Part B comprises of MCQ to be answered online.
  • Maximum Marks: Total of 200 marks questions will be asked in the exam.125 marks of Part-A and 75 marks of Part-B.
  • Duration: The complete exam will be of 3 hours.135 minutes for Part-A(Drawing section)and 45 minutes for Part-B(PCM,General Aptitude & Logical Reasoning).
  • Language: All instructions will be given in English language only.
  • Marking Scheme: 1.5 marks will be alloted for each correct answer for PCM, General Aptitude & Logical Reasoning.
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking in the exam.

NATA 2020 EXAMINATION CONTENT

The test is in two parts.A paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test.The test measures aptitude of the candidate through two sections-a paper based section for drawing and computer based section for aesthetic sensitivity.

DRAWING TEST

This is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions.The drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects-

  • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
  • Visualizing and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings.
  • Sense of perspective drawing
  • Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
  • Creating interesting two dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
  • Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition.
  • Understanding of scale and proportions.
  • Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.
AESTHETIC SENSITIVITY TEST

This is computer based test where candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions.The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception,imagination and observation,creativity and communication along with architectural awareness and comprises of-

  • Visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
  • Visualizing different sides of three dimensional objects.
  • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities.
  • Analytical reasoning.
  • Mental Ability.
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression.
  • Architectural awareness.

 

NATA 2020 EVALUATION PATTERN

  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 1.5 marks will be awarded to the candidate in Physics, Chemistry,Mathemetics & General Aptitude test.
  • Negative Marking: No marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.

QUALIFYING MARKS FOR NATA 2020

  • A minimum of 32 marks out of 125 marks must be secured in Part A(approximately 25%) 
  • A minimum of 18 marks out of 75 marks must be secured in Part B(approximately 25%) 
  • Overall qualifying marks(out of 200)would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.
